Easy to post #BoycottChina on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. But simply it is not so easy as a post on social sites.
All Indian citizens are talking about Boycott China is good to unite against Chinese products. But it hurt most at the time of India-China escalation when we see Chinese smartphones sell out within minutes.
It clearly shows our dependency on China in the field of smartphones. Chinese smartphones brands, led by Xiaomi, Vivo, One Plus, and Oppo are market leaders in India with an estimated 72% share put together, leaving Samsung and Apple behind according to a report by Gateway house.
But the Chinese smartphones provide high features with low cost as compare to Samsung and Apple. So how a common man with low income can buy high-cost smartphones?
The India sales of those Chinese smartphones brands totalled more than $16 billion in 2019 according to IDC (International Data Corporation)
Indian government officials said they plan to impose higher trade barrier and raise import duty on around 300 products from China.
India currently has a $59.3 bn trade deficit with China. When we see India imports list -China comes on the first place with 14% of the total India imports. But we see China exports list India comes on the ninth place with 3% of total China exports.
What China sells to India?
China exports to India comprises smartphones, electrical appliance, fertilizers, auto components, telecom equipment, metro rail coaches, pharmaceutical ingredients, iron and steel products, plastic and chemicals, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
May be D10 group will help for India to reduce the dependency of telecom equipment on China.
And for pharmaceutical ingredients - government has taken the step by 10,000 crores scheme to boost domestic API(Active pharmaceutical ingredients).
If we succeed in totally Boycotting China from our country will not impact China economy because we are just 3% of total China exports. But on the position side it will reduce our trade deficit with the China of $59.3 billion dollars, it will create more jobs in India and that will be a boost for the Atmanirbhar Bharat.
